Registration

  • Join us for this year's opening night fundraiser and screening of the spectacular new documentary, "Finding Her Beat."

    The Film:
A master of Japanese drumming and a Korean adoptee from Minnesota boldly convene an all-female troupe to perform Taiko, the Japanese drumming art that has been off-limits to women for centuries. As the early menace of Covid rumbles in the background, the group faces down hurdles to prepare for a historic performance in snowy St. Paul. Buoyed by dynamic drum performances and do-or-die spirit, FINDING HER BEAT is an energizing and uplifting story of music, cultural expression and sisterhood.

  • Join us for this interactive masterclass and film screening celebrating the power of documentary and our spotlight docs, "Crown" and "Wine, Women and Dementia."

    The Films:

    "Crown"
This documentary aims to educate and call to action for Oklahoma to join in with other states and pass legislation to pass the CROWN ACT (Create a Respectful and Open World for Natural Hair) to prevent bullying and discrimination based on ethnic hair in the workplace and schools.

    "Wine, Women & Dementia"
The world is facing a crisis as baby boomers age into dementia. The U.S. is no exception with an estimated 9 million Americans living with dementia by 2030. “Wine, Women, and Dementia” brings the audience face to face with the human side of dementia as former dementia family caregiver and filmmaker, Kitty Norton, sets off on an RV adventure to meet other dementia family caregivers throughout the U.S. who virtually provided her with critical support through their shared caregiving experiences.

The caregivers share intimate, humorous, heartfelt stories, told individually direct to camera, and in backyard “wine chats” with 2 or more participants. These stories provide a vivid picture of dementia life - from diagnosis to death, heartbreak to hilarity, and are interwoven with the physical journey of a comical cross-country roadtrip, as well as Norton’s personal caregiver journey told through family interviews, archival footage, and home movies.

“Wine, Women, and Dementia” explores the themes of perseverance, familial devotion, and most importantly how to celebrate life on a long, long road to death.
